    • ALLOY SPORT ROAD BIKE RE-IMAGINED

The Strela Comp offers unbelievable quality for the price - a true BIC road bike! The Strela range is a great option for those who want a high-performance bike without the implications of carbon fibre. Strela sports a sophisticated hydro-formed alloy tube set that boosts pedalling stiffness for efficient power-transfer while still offering a comfortable experience for long days in the saddle.

      STRELA HYDRO FORMED ALLOY FRAME

The hydro formed alloy frame of the Strela is remarkably light and purposefully stiff. This means that the frame is light for an alloy frame, and strong enough to be ridden hard. It features a tapered 1-1/8"-1.5" headtube, Internal Cable Routing and a replaceable derailleur hanger. Hydro forming is the process of forcing tubes into complex negative molds using internally pressurized water and or oil. This creates lightweight, super strong alloy tubing with complex shapes.

      SBC CARBON ROAD FORK

Strela Comp is fitted with the SBC Advanced Dynamics carbon fork. The carbon fork further reduces overall weight on the bike, improves aerodynamics, steering precision and ride comfort. With an immaculate paint matched finish, the fork has a tapered carbon steerer and QR dropouts and looks as good as it rides.

    • WHY IT’S BEST.

      1. The Strela Comp, complete, in a size medium, weighs in at a remarkable 10.26kg - super low weight for a bike in this class and price bracket.
      2. The Strela Conp is fitted with a Shimano Tiagra 4700 2x10 groupset. Smooth, quiet, reliable and light weight - what's not to love?!
      3. The Strela alloy frame provides exceptional acceleration and an efficient energy transfer, so you will be able to achieve higher speed with less effort. Strela's very stiff frame also provides extremely efficient climbing capabilities, so you will easily conquer even the highest mountain tops.
      4. Silverback's alloy frames - like this one on the Strela, are of the highest quality - backed by our excellent quality guarantee.
      5. Direct mount of the front mount on the frame assures a more stiff and rigid base for the derailleur and enables it to shift more accurately and reliably.
      6. The wider headtube on the frame ensures greater steering accuracy and better front end stiffness. The increased stiffness is used in order to reduce the flex of the front end of the bike, which the rider feels as a more stable ride.

      ENGINEERING NOTES.

      GEOMETRY

Geometry on the mid compact Strela is designed for a well balanced ride - shining on both longer rides and climbs/descents, with great comfort, efficient power delivery and loads of cornering stability and grip.

      WHEELS AND TYRES

Strela Comp is fitted with a quality double wall Alexrims RA30, 700C alloy wheelset on Shimano HBRS470 c/lock disc hubs . These are quick rolling and wrapped in Vittoria Zaffiro 700x28C tyres, suited to the Strela's 'do anything' nature.

      GROUPSET CHOICE

A perfectly fit for purpose Shimano Tiagra 4700 2 x 10 groupset ensures longevity, smooth shifting and efficient power delivery to the wheels. Smooth shifting and minimal maintenance is a given when professionally setup.

      BRAKESET

Strela Elite is designed to do a bit of everything - well. Going fast and nimble handling is great, but you need to be able to manage that speed for control. Strela Comp uses powerful Shimano Tiagra disc brakes to effectively do just that. Disc brakes offer great stopping power and good modulation when set up correctly.

      FORK

SBC carbon fork helps reduce vibrations from the road and improves comfort while riding. The material also enable us to build a fork more suited to the needs of a road cyclist, because it offers improved rigidity, as well as lowering overall bike weight and improving ride comfort.

      WEIGHT

Strela Comp weighs in at a mere 10.26kg for an Alloy frame road bike in this category! This weight is on a size Medium excluding pedals but including tubes.

    • FAQ.

      • How often should I inspect my rims after rim brake use?

Rims and rimbrakes have been used together for many decades. You only have to inspect your rims after you've ridden in adverse conditions, where wet sand etc could possibly damage your brake surfaces. It is important to check your brakepads often and never run them to the metal, as this will damage your rims.

      • Can use my Strela Comp as a touring or commuting bike?

The Strela Comp frame does not have rack mounts, so not ideal for touring. But for commuting, if you use a backpack, it should make a very good urban run-around.

      • Can I fit a Di2 grupset on my Strela Comp?

Unfortunately the frame of the Strela Comp is not designed to be Di2 ready.
